Ohkay Owingeh Community School participates in several student assessments. These student assessments are necessary to measure whether students are on track to be successful in school, future college courses and in their careers.

The New Mexico Measures of Student Success and Achievement (NM-MSSA) is the summative assessment in mathematics and English language arts (ELA) for students in grades 3–8 aligned to the New Mexico Common Core State Standards (NMCCSS) for math and language arts. The assessment measures a student’s grade level proficiency and progress toward college and/or career readiness.

The New Mexico Assessment of Science Readiness (NM-ASR) is New Mexico’s new assessment of science proficiency aligned to the NM STEM Ready! Science Standards, which were adopted on July 1, 2018. The NM-ASR was census field tested in spring 2020.

NWEA MAP short cycle assessment for students in grades kindergarten through 6th grade. This assessment tracks students’ progress in Beginning, Middle and End of Year Benchmarks in Reading, Math and Language Usage
